Doppelt erfolgreich für den guten Zweck

Last weekend, our company was involved in two charity events in Düsseldorf – with sporting success and a clear commitment to social responsibility.

Part 1: Ingo, the flamingo, rows forward with sustainability

Charity regatta of the German Cancer Society of North Rhine-Westphalia (Krebsgesellschaft NRW e.V.) ‘Düsseldorf am Ruder’ in Düsseldorf harbour. We have been rowing every year since 2015: for people. For education. For life.

Our two teams of four gave their all thanks to the great atmosphere and cheering from fans from the Schulz & Sohn workforce. ‘Taking part is everything’ – so they say. But that wasn’t enough for our rowing teams.

The ‘Nachhaltig nach Vorn’ (Sustainably forward) team secured third place in the mixed advanced category. The team included our two managing directors, Dr Klaus Vitalis Schulz and Mark Sethe, Elvira Guderian and Lynn-Marie Zapp.

Our second team, ‘Ingo, der Flamingo’ (Ingo the Flamingo), with Rene Bittner, Cornelia Burger, Axel Pütz, and Jennifer Rusch, impressed the jury with their creativity.

They received the prize for best costume and were certainly the subject of hundreds of snapshots at the event.

With a total of 117 teams and 468 rowers, there was a great atmosphere that combined sporting ambition and community spirit. Team building at its best.

Part 2: A few strokes to the finish line

Charity mini golf tournament organised by the ‘Werkstatt für angepasste Arbeit’ (workshop for adapted work).

Our top man, also when it comes to mini golf, Mark Sethe (CFO) came third in the tournament. Congratulations!

These two events are about more than just having fun competing. As a family business, we take responsibility by supporting the Cancer Society of North Rhine-Westphalia (Krebsgesellschaft NRW e.V.) and through our commitment to inclusion.

A big thank you to everyone who made these activities possible through their organisation, participation or support.
