Schulz & Sohn GmbH and the municipal Wim Wenders Gymnasium in Düsseldorf signed a cooperation agreement on 19 September 2025. The aim is to give school pupils practical insights into the chemical industry.

Plans include internships for Year 10 pupils, workshops for advanced mathematics and chemistry courses, and one-day insights into chemical work areas for upper school pupils.

‘We are very much looking forward to the collaboration and the joint projects,’ emphasised Dr Klaus Vitalis Schulz (CEO) and Mark Sethe (CFO) at the signing. School principal Dr Zeoli also highlighted the value of the partnership: ‘Our pupils benefit from real-life experiences that go beyond the classroom.’

With this cooperation, both partners are sending a strong signal for the connection between schools and business in Düsseldorf.

For Schulz & Sohn in particular, the cooperation with the Wim Wenders Gymnasium is also a local concern: the company’s first shop was located at Ellerstraße 181 – just a few steps away from Schmiedestraße, where the school is located. The collaboration thus builds on a shared neighbourhood in Oberbilk. The aim is to strengthen local ties and support the region through targeted educational programmes.
