135 years of Schulz & Sohn – Together for a good cause

2025 was a special year for Schulz & Sohn: we celebrated our 135th anniversary! Since 1890, we have stood for consistency, fairness and responsibility. Values that we also wanted to highlight during the Christmas season.

Instead of sending Christmas gifts, we teamed up with our business partners to organise a special fundraising campaign. For each business relationship, we symbolically donated £13.50 – an amount that reflects our anniversary. Our partners were able to decide for themselves which organisation should receive the donation, so that every vote had a direct impact.

Thanks to the high level of participation, a nice total amount was collected, which was distributed among six organisations in Düsseldorf:

FGZ Sonnenstraße — School & community for children and families

The FGZ Sonnenstraße family primary school center is much more than just a school. It offers open all-day care, parent-child afternoons, language, creative and leisure activities, and a maker space that playfully promotes children’s skills. The FGZ also provides targeted support to refugee families and creates a social space for community and exchange.

With compassion, respect and a feminist attitude, the association empowers young women and creates protection, hope, and opportunities for the future.

Beyond employment, the association promotes community, appreciation, and supportive structures. Donations enable professional participation, self-determination, and inclusive coexistence.

STAY! Düsseldorf — Support for refugees and people with a migrant background

STAY! Düsseldorf is an independent contact point for refugees and people with a migrant background from non-EU countries. The team offers free advice on asylum and residence law, support with administrative procedures, forms, and social issues, as well as help with arranging medical care. STAY! opens doors for people who are new to Düsseldorf and paves the way for a safe arrival and new perspectives.

Tiertafel Düsseldorf e.V. — For animals and people in difficult conditions

Tiertafel Düsseldorf supports people with animals who are in financial distress and cannot adequately care for their pets. This prevents beloved animals, often important social companions, from having to be separated from their owners. The association works voluntarily and is financed exclusively by donations.

In addition, as part of our sustainability management, we made an additional donation to Mission2Marsh to specifically support the protection and restoration of moors.

This campaign shows what is possible when many people act together. Together with our partners, we were able to strengthen social, sustainable, and charitable projects in Düsseldorf, thereby living our values beyond the company.

Many thanks to everyone who supported this campaign!
