Waste management training at Schulz & Sohn: Knowledge that makes a difference

As part of our commitment to sustainability, waste management training sessions were held at Schulz & Sohn, organised by our sustainability team, Henriette and Vivian. In addition to the training itself, the two of them ensured a successful social setting and plenty of discussion with a lovingly organised Easter brunch.

The event focused on the topic of proper waste separation. Axel Subklew, an external expert from the ‘Mülltrennung wirkt’ initiative, clearly explained what happens to our waste after disposal and why careful separation makes an important contribution to the environment and recycling. Many everyday examples highlighted just how big a difference proper separation can make.

A particular highlight was the interactive quiz “Who Wants to Be a Waste Millionaire?”, in which all participants could test their knowledge in a hasty manner and guess the correct answers. In this way, a significant topic was turned into a lively and practical learning experience.

At Schulz & Sohn, sustainability is not a one-off project, but part of our daily operations. With the introduction of our waste separation scheme – the so-called “Waste Revolution” – we have already laid important foundations:

Appropriate collection systems are available in the canteen, kitchens, offices and meeting rooms, supplemented by clear sorting instructions and personal waste cards for all employees.

Now it’s all about putting this into practice in our daily lives. Every piece of packaging that is sorted correctly helps to conserve resources and improve recycling processes.
